Study Away Eligibility Policy
RWU Study Away Eligibility Policy
While acknowledging that all study abroad/away programs and overseas institutions have their own criteria for admissions, Roger Williams University students are held to an institutional standard before being allowed to study abroad/away for credit.
Students are eligible to study away no earlier than Summer Session I of the summer following their first year.
In addition to specific program GPA criteria for study abroad admission, RWU students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for semester and summer program consideration.
At the time of application, students must not be on either Academic Probation or Disciplinary Probation status in order to be considered for study abroad program admission.
Each student must meet with their academic advisor to discuss their interest in studying abroad and to determine if they can accommodate a study away term and continue advancing their graduation requirements. Each student must also receive approval from their academic advisor(s) and dean(s) for all courses listed on their Study Abroad Course Pre-Approval Form.
