BCU early history can be traced back to the five individual colleges which would be brought together as The City of Birmingham Polytechnic in 1971. Students studying in the UK will need a Short Term Student Visitor Visa which will be issued at the airport upon arrival. Students who will be doing an Internship will require a Tier 4 Visa which needs to be applied for and issued before arrival to the UK.
